Frequently Asked Questions

How do I contact you?

I prefer written enquiries rather that phone calls - as I'm often in the middle of snake wrangling and can't answer the phone! The best ways to get in touch are to:
  • complete a contact form (bottom of this page),
  • email me (cass@roamingreptileeducation.com.au)
  • or phone/text (0420 976 086)

Do I need to be vaccinated?

Yes please! I will ask adults at the party to show their vaccine certificates. I recommend that you get your kids vaccinated as soon as you can.

What happens if COVID cases rise?

In the week/s before your party, please keep an eye on case numbers. If we are consistently in the three figures (and rising), I recommend looking at postponing your party. If we're in the 1000s and above, I recommend cancelling for a full refund.

What days are you available?

I am only available on weekends and Mondays. You are welcome to enquire about another day if it is far enough in advance.

Can I request a specific snake or lizard?

If your child *really* wants to have a certain reptile there, I can try my best to make it happen. However, I can never guarantee it. The slideshow shows some of the animals I can bring along.

What reptiles will you bring?

Usually four reptiles for a one hour party. The actual reptiles I bring on the day depend on the animals themselves, but there is usually a mix of snakes and lizards. Anyone that has just eaten or is about to shed their skin needs privacy and quiet, and will not come to parties.

I will also bring no-water-required handwash for all guests to use.

How much do you charge?

$290/hour plus travel fees.

Here are some common suburb travel fees to give an indication. Prices subject to change without notice.

Cannington - $40
Duncraig - $15
Fremantle - $55
Joondalaup - $30
Mundaring- $60
Perth - $25

I also offer a piece of reptile skin for $10 (subject to availability).

What do you need at my venue?

The only thing I need is a space where I can show off the reptiles, and somewhere for the children to sit. You can provide chairs, a rug, or just a grassed area, it's up to you. It will need to be somewhere comfortable for the kids; in the shade & away from food.

If you've booked the party games option, please let me know how much space you have at your venue so I can plan appropriate games.

How old does my child need to be?

The minimum age for birthday parties is three years old. Any guests under this age will need to be closely supervised by their parent/guardian to make sure they don't hurt the snakes and lizards.

I'm scared of snakes! Will you make me hold them?

I never make anyone hold/touch any reptile that they don't feel comfortable with. However, I'm happy to talk you through any fears you have and hopefully at least get you into a photo with your child and a reptile.

How many kids can I have in a session?

Birthday parties - 16-20 is a good number, but I can accommodate your child's whole class if needs be.
Childcare Centres/OSHC - maximum 35 children per session.
School classrooms - one class at a time is recommended, but negotiable. I've entertained entire schools at assemblies before!

What party games do you play?

The games I choose depend on the age group, the space you have and the dynamics of the group on the day. Some of the games I have played are Simon Says, Duck Duck Goose, What's the Time Mr Snake, Under and Over, Lizard Hunt, Tails, Dodge, Farmer Sam, Tunnel Lizard and Sleeping Snakes. If there's a favourite game your child wants to play, please let me know.

I do not provide prizes, but can hand out prizes that you supply if you wish.

How long can I book?

Minimum is one hour, maximum is five hours. A normal birthday party is an hour booking.
If you're booking a display, the minimum time is two hours.

What can I do to help?

Do not have food available for children to eat while the reptiles are there. All children will need to wash their hands after touching the reptiles and before eating any food to minimise risk of germs like salmonella (just like you would when you touch any animal!)

Can I take photos?

Yes! Photographs are encouraged, every child will have an opportunity to touch/hold the reptiles and I'd love for you to take photos of everything. If you miss a photo opportunity, let me know and I'll try to set it up again for the cameras.

What are your social media accounts?

I have Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. You can add a review on Facebook, and I'm always keen to see photos from your party later!
I won't post a photo of your child without permission, but their voices may appear in the background of videos of the reptiles doing cool or gross things.

Ok, I'm ready to ask a question.

Please tell me where you are having your booking, the age of the children, what kind of other entertainment you will have, and how amazing you are for booking a reptile show.
